# Comment threads

A comment attaches to a block, an icon, or a cell — a discussion on the side, not a task to check off (for that, see *[A block's actions and its derived progress](/docs/en/guides/actions-et-avancement/)*).

## Posting a comment

**Right-click a block, an icon, or a cell › Comment** (the label becomes **Edit the comment** once there is one) opens a bubble with a text field. Type, confirm with **Enter** (Shift+Enter for a line break, Escape to cancel). A target carries only **one** top-level comment; writing a new one on a target that already has one replaces it.

## Replying

An existing comment's bubble shows its author and date ("You · 5 min ago"), the body, and a **Reply…** field below. Every reply is signed by whoever wrote it and dated; a thread accepts up to 200 replies. A reply already posted carries its own **Edit** / **Delete** buttons, for its author.

## Resolving

The **Resolve** button, at the bottom of the bubble, closes the thread: it collapses to one line — "Resolved by *who* · *when* [*n* reply/replies]" — with a **Reopen** button. While it's resolved, you can't reply without first reopening; the top-level comment's **Delete** button stays visible but greyed out.

## What happens when you get it wrong

- **A comment posted on the wrong target**: **Delete the comment** (from the right-click menu, or in the bubble) removes it; the right one gets posted elsewhere.
- **A thread resolved by mistake**: **Reopen** restores it as it was — nothing is lost, the replies stay.
- **A reply that needs a correction**: use its own **Edit**, no need to delete it and write a new one.

## What this page doesn't cover

- **Where to find the list of every comment on a schedule, without clicking each block**: an agent tool (`list_comments`) does this today; no dedicated screen yet for a human reader.
- **Being notified of a reply to your comment**: see *[Notifications and the evening mail](/docs/en/guides/notifications-et-courrier/)*.
- **Formatting a cell** (bold, color) rather than commenting on it: see *[The grid and columns](/docs/en/guides/grille-et-colonnes/)*.
